Clever use of mirrors can change the entire dynamic of any home in an instant. Mirrors reflect light and therefore open up a room, making it appear brighter and more spacious than it actually is. In smaller rooms such as the bathroom or a guest bedroom, mirrors can be used to give the illusion of space. In larger rooms carefully positioned mirrors can make the space seem boundless and free. Positioning mirrors opposite large picture windows has the added bonus of reflecting back the views from outdoors into the room. Where this is not possible mirrors should be placed opposite an object of beauty such as a framed piece of artwork or wall display. Large mirrors create a focal point in any room of the house with ease, especially when framed and hung centrally. Smaller mirrors can be used to generate more light and colour anywhere in the house. Mirror tiles in a bathroom open up the space and are also wipe-clean and water resistant.
